About the Job
A Coachman Automotive Mechanic; performs maintenance and repairs on automobiles of all makes and models. You are responsible for removing, installing, diagnosing, repairing, disassembling and assembling parts, components and engines. Performs all duties according to safety procedures. Two years of experience. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. Typically reports to a Frank senior and Frank Jr. or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Service Mechanics will:
- Perform preventative maintenance, scheduled maintenance and safety inspection.
- Perform diagnostics and repairs of the following but not limited to:
- · Engine performance issues
- · Air/hydraulic brake system
- · Electrical systems
- · Suspension systems
- · Steering systems

Two years of experience, A high school diploma, followed by vocational training, is the minimum qualification for this job. We prefer mechanics to obtain certification from an accreditation organization, such as the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. Mechanics can build their qualifications with accreditation in different aspects of vehicle maintenance, including electrical/electronic systems, engine performance and repair, heating and air conditioning, brakes, manual drivetrain and axles, automatic transmission, suspension, and steering. Mechanics who achieve certification in all the Institute’s maintenance categories become Master Automobile Technicians. Mechanics working in franchised dealerships may have to complete courses required by vehicle manufacturers.
Mechanics must be familiar with all aspects of vehicle operation and must understand the functions of the major components and systems. They must have good analytical skills to diagnose problems and make decisions about the most suitable repairs. They must be competent at using servicing and maintenance tools and equipment, and be familiar with the different categories of lubricants and service parts.

Pay and Outlook
Compensation is not capped and is paid out at 22.5% of all parts and labor that you perform. The work week is Monday through Friday. Coachman does not work on any Holiday and believes that their employees should share that time with their families. We also offer a 401k revenue plan.
